In a major relief to its students, Ranchi-based St. Xavier’s College,Ranchi has revised the schedule of their Semester VI End- SEM Exam.
As per the notice issued by the Examination Department, St.Xavier’s college, their Mid- Sem examination will be held on May 26,2025 to May 30,2025. The last class( for calculation of attendance) is on July 5,2025.
Earlier, the prestigious collage had proposed to hold these exams in September,2025. This was a cause of concern for many of them. They had demanded that these examinations be preponed. Why?
They had submitted their grievance in view of their dreams to pursue post graduation courses from top universities including Delhi University where admissions take place on the basis of ranks acquired in the Common University Entrance Test( CUET)in August -September every year.
Since the St.Xavier’s college management had decided to hold these exams in the same month( September), many of these students who had already gained CUET ranks, were upset knowing they have the merit and still they will be deprived to doing so.
With their dreams in mind with CUET ranks in hand, they have met the St.Xavier’s college authorities and sought preponing the final semester examinations in July, but in vain.
Aware of their genuine grievance, JharkhandStayeNews.com contacted Professor Harishwar Dayal, who had been teaching Economics to the undergraduate and post-graduate students of St.Xavier’s college.
Soon, Rev. Fr. Dr. Nabor Lakra, S.J, Principal of the same college, is learnt to have intervened and the decision to prepone these exams was taken.
“We are very happy. Our grievance is met by our Honourable Principal”, Sunil Munda( name changed to protect identity).
“ Had our college ( St.Xavier’s college, Ranchi) not accepted our demand for ‘preponing’ the final semester graduation examinations , our dream to do post graduation from esteemed university would have got shattered”.
