A Ranchi bound Indigo flight made an emergency landing in Ranchi on Monday afternoon at around 1.14 pm as a vulture hit the plane, Air port authority told JharkhandStateNews.com.
As per the official report, 175 passengers were onboard.After the flight landed safely, all passengers heaved a shy of relief.
PTI quotes Airport Authority official saying that the Indigo flight was flying 4000 feet above ground when it suffered damage after being hit by a vulture.
The PTI quotes Ranchi based Birsa Munda Airport Diractor R R Maurya saying,” An Indigo flight suffered a bird hit near Ranchi. The Indigo flight was coming to Ranchi from Patna and the pilot had to make an emergency landing.”
The aircraft suffered a ‘dent’ after being hit by a vulture. The engineers were assessing the damage.
