With over 27 years of impactful work, Dr. Patil has been a trailblazer in the fields of consumer law, legal education, and policy development. He established the Online Consumer Mediation Centre (OCMC) and the International Journal on Consumer Law and Practice. Under his leadership, NUSRL collaborated with the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Government of India, to set up the Consumer Chair, providing a significant boost to research and policy formulation.

Under his Leadership, NUSRL has seen a marked improvement in its National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) standing.
