Eid-ul-Adha, popularly known as Bakrid, was observed with religious fervour amid tight security in Jharkhand on Saturday.

People belonging to the Muslim community thronged their nearest mosques in large numbers and offered namaz.

Jharkhand Governor Santosh Gangwar and Chief Minister Hemant Soren extended their best wishes on the occasion.

Even the Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi has greeted everyone on the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha.

In a X post, the Prime Minister said; 

"Best wishes on Eid ul-Adha. May this occasion inspire harmony and strengthen the fabric of peace in our society. Wishing everyone good health and prosperity."
