The monsoon is active in Jharkhand and several other parts of eastern India now.
The IMD even has issued a red alert for Odisha, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, and parts of West Bengal for Wednesday, June 18.
Further, a red alert was issued for Assam and Meghalaya.
It is predicted that Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Bihar, Jharkhand, and Gangetic West Bengal could have moderate to heavy rainfall between June 18 and June 21, along with thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds (40 to 50 kmph).
On June 18 and 19, isolated areas in Gangetic West Bengal, Odisha, and Jharkhand are anticipated to see extremely heavy rainfall of more than 20 cm in 24 hours.
Additionally, thunderstorms with wind speeds reaching up to 70 kmph may hit parts of Madhya Pradesh on June 18.
Even though the monsoon is active, the IMD said there won't be much of a change in the high temperatures across most of the country during this time.
