*Pictures show Anti Drug Campaign Posters displayed across Ranchi.

Swatantra Jiwan Chune,Madak Drawon Ke Giraft Me Aane Se Bache”( Live Independent Life,Try to Stay Beyond the Reach of Intoxicating Drug’s), reads a poster carrying the picture of Chief Minister Hemant Soren. 

The  slogan and poster are symptomatic of a mega campaign launched by the Hemant Soren government against the menace of drug’s, a feature common among tribals in the state.

As such, the capital city is flooded with anti- drug posters and banners, each displaying message against consumption of drug’s. All these display advertisements were sponsored by the state government’s  Intormation and Public Relation Department.

Along side, in a message against drug abuse, the Hemant Soren Government had on Thursday( June 26,2025) organised a marathon from Morhabadi Ground to Albert Ekka Chowk. It was meant to observe the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking. 

Also, the statewide anti-drug awareness campaign which began on June 10 concluded today(June 26). 

On Wednesday, Ranchi district administration had organised a drive at Aryabhatta Auditorium in Morabadi to create awareness among youth, students, teachers, and the rural community about the dangers of substance abuse and to promote collective efforts toward building a drug-free society. 

The programme was attended by DC Manjunath Bhajantri and senior superintendent of police Chandan Kumar Sinha. 

Experts emphasized the importance of social awareness and called upon all sections of society to actively participate in the campaign against drug addiction.
