

Incessant rain,collapse of school building’s roof, death of one and injury to three tribals in Ranchi
The death of one person and injury to three others following the collapse of a portion of roof of a government school due to incessant rains in Ranchi has brought into light one fact - victims were tribals.
The deceased victim was Suraj Baitha, 65, a resident of Ratu, who worked as a caretaker there.
Three injured victims - Manish Tirkey, Pritam Tirkey and Motu Oraon, all aged between 18 and 19 years- were admitted at a local hospital.
As per statements of the police and eye witnesses, they were trapped under the debris.
The incident took place at the state government run school at Tangra Toli in Piska More area, Ranchi.They were rescued and sent to a nearby hospital.

The PTI report quotes Sukhdeo Nagar Police Station in-charge Manoj Kumar saying,”Our team is there for the rescue operation.”
The school, said to be a primary one, was not operational for quite some time due to lack of students attending it.
Jharkhand has been experiencing heavy rainfall for the last several days.
The State has recorded 71 per cent surplus rainfall between June 1 and July 16, according to an IMD bulletin. Jharkhand received 595.8 mm of precipitation against the normal of 348.9 mm during the period.
