Following the death of former Jharkhand Chief Minister and Jharkhand Mukti Morcha founder Shibu Soren on Monday (August 4, 2025),
President Droupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and Leader of Opposition(LoP) in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi visited the Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in Delhi to pay homage.
The leaders met with Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren and expressed their condolences.

President Droupadi Murmu visited Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, New Delhi and paid last respects to Shri Shibu Soren. She offered her condolences to his son and Chief Minister of Jharkhand Shri Hemant Soren,” the Rashtrapati Bhavan said in a post on X.
“Went to Sir Ganga Ram Hospital to pay homage to Shri Shibu Soren Ji. Also met his family. My thoughts are with Hemant Ji, Kalpana Ji and the admirers of Shri Shibu Soren Ji,” Mr. Modi said in a post on X, with pictures of him interacting with Jharkhand Chief Minister and Shibu Soren’s son Hemant Soren.
“His entire life was dedicated to the welfare of the tribal community, for which he will always be remembered,” Mr. Modi said in a subsequent social media post.
