Another search operation and encounter in forest area of West Singhbhum district of Jharkhand,resulting in casualty- on banned outfit CPI- Maoist member.

According to the police, search operation resulting in the encounter took place in Souta forest area under the Goilkera Police Station of West Singhbhum district jurisdiction early this morning.

The deceased was a member of the banned CPI (Maoist)who suffered from bullet injury. The gun fight was between red rebels and security forces on Wednesday (August 13, 2025).

The search operation is underway, Kolhan DIG Anuranjan Kispotta reportedly said."An exchange of fire took place between Maoists and security forces, in which a member of the CPI (Maoist) was killed," PTI quotes Kolhan Inspector General of Police, Manoj Kaushik as saying.
