Come Ramadan,Muslims observe austerity across the world. They abstain from food or water from sun rise to sun set. Many of them stay awake untill the early morning, relaxing and shopping in market complexes.

As a result, the market complexes across Jharkhand remain packed with customers, known by shop keepers as “Ramadan Rush.”

In Ranchi, the market complex along the Main Road, starting from Daily Market to Doranda,is packed with Ramadan customers.

Sulam Khan,a businessman, said:”There’s a significant increase in advertising spend during Ramadan, including brand marketing.”

Even the police were busy maintaining law and order situation in Ranchi and other districts, towns and villages in Jharkhand.

There is another side of the event. While the Muslims were out to celebrate Eid al-Fitr,the Hindus are gearing up to celebrate Rath Yatra on July 7.The representatives of these communities had held meetings in Ranchi to co-operate and celebrate both festivals peacefully.
