U.S. Consulate General Kolkata in collaboration with Banglanatak dot com will launch an awareness campaign "Be Alert, Raise Alarm#stophumantrafficking". An anti-human trafficking caravan is traveling to cover 60 locations across 15 districts in the states of West Bengal, Jharkhand and Bihar in the months of March and April.
Information about the campaign will be shared at the launch of anti-TIP caravan. The campaign is organized in Jharkhand in partnership with Directorate of Social Welfare, UNICEF, CID and Department of Labor to create awareness among the common people.
Interactive street-plays, films on human trafficking and survivor stories will be highlighted during the caravan’s travel to the rural areas. The caravan will also carry a traveling exhibition on ramifications of trafficking and ploys used by the traffickers, to build awareness.
Working together to end all forms of human trafficking is a key pillar of U.S.-India partnership and the U.S. Consulate General in Kolkata has been working as a convener, with the Jharkhand Government, to bring together all stakeholders to counter human trafficking in the eastern India.
