Rajasthani Folk Dance.Painting, fashion show, baby show, band display. And Jharkhandi Thali, a perfect amalgamation of tribal cuisines, beside Nepali delicacies.
All these enthral the hoppers at the Annual Diwali fiesta – Diwali Utsav organised by IPS Officers Wives Association (IPSOWA) at Jharkhand Armed Police (JAP)-1 ground in Doranda, Ranchi. The four -day fair was inaugurated by the Chief Minister Raghubar Das on Wednesday.
The blend of music and dance is combined with other artistic genres – Painting, fashion show, baby show, band display etc. The four-day event has also got a variety of cuisines to tickle the taste buds of the visitors.
Jharkhandi Thali, a perfect amalgamation of tribal cuisines including Nepali delicacies is available for the visitors. The annual event which entered into its 16th year was inaugurated by Chief Minister Raghubar Das. Children of ‘Aanchal Shishu Vihar’ were present as distinguished guests during the inauguration.
IPSOWA, an NGO, has organised Diwali Mela since 2002.For the 16th time,its move was advertised through FM band radio and social media.
In fact,the wives of IPS officers used the platform of IPSOWA to indulge in social and charitable acts such as Saraswati Vidya Scholarship and uplifting of lives of families of police martyrs' families and meritorious children of police persons and downtrodden people.
More,says IPSOWA President Poonam Pandey, who is wife DK Pandey,a highly successful DGP of Jharkhand, financial support is provided to family members of martyrs and their widows as well as orphan children.
