In the gracious presence of Hon'ble Governor Draupadi Murmu, in the Birsa Mandap of Raj Bhawan, today, Sarhul Milan ceremony-cum-cultural program was organized jointly by Dr Shyamaprasad Mukherjee University, Ranchi and Kolhan University, Chaibasa. Giving blessings and good wishes to all, the Governor said that the nature festival Sarhul gives a comprehensive message to all.

The Governor said that the nature festival Sarhul is not limited to the tribals only, it has become a festival of the entire state. Sarhul is celebrated in Jharkhand as well as in many other states including Odisha, Chhattisgarh. She said that human beings have an unbroken relationship with nature. She said that from the roots of Sakhua tree to its leaf all are beneficial for mankind. She said that this festival is celebrated by all with all the enthusiasm and excitement. She also said that while the whole world is worried about saving the environment today, the tribal communities are very much in love with nature.

In the program, Ekani (In-laws' Sajan Katha) was performed by students in folk dance, Nagpuri dance, Mundari dance, community song, Sarhul song (Ho Santali).

On this occasion, Principal Secretary of the Governor Mr. Satendra Singh, Vice Chancellor of various Universities, Pratipalpati and many academics and students were present.
