The sky is packed with clouds. The wind is blowing at a low speed. And it is drizzling making the Morahabadi ground look green, wet and pleasant.
August 15, 2019, is the last Independence Day celebration organised by the BJP government led by Chief Minister Raghubar Das for the fifth consecutive and last time of his five-year term. The assembly elections are expected to be held before the end of 2019.
While Das government has worked hard to celebrate Independence Day in a grand manner, prevalent weather is not against it either. Met experts say that clouds, rains and drizzles can continue to keep life comfortable during the next two-three days.
Notably, the continued medium and light rains have kept farmers, who had already sown paddy crops in their fields, appear to be in cheers."The Independence Day celebrations are going on in this rainy season", smiles Radhe Gupta, a farmer echoing sentiments of a dozen other farmers in Ranchi.
The state administration and the police are on high alert. The Section 144 Cr.Pc are in force near the High Court, Morahabadi Maidan and the Raj Bhawan area to prevent dharna and procession. All slaughterhouses were closed and the sale of non-veg items was not available.
All across the state, peace prevailed and scores of people -men, women, and children were spotted carrying tri-color national flags in their hands/cars and even trucks.
