Ask any woman what has helped her pass time during the COVID -19 lockdown period and pat comes her reply ‘ phone’.

The housewives and working women passed time either watching TV programmes or chatting on WhatsApp with friends. Even doctors and front- line workers www.jharkhandstatenews.com talked to spoke how vital their phones have been for themselves and their families.

The random survey was launched in April when lock down-1 was in force across the country and it continued till Unlock- 1 began on June 2.

“ Without the phone, it would have been difficult to pass time”, said Sonika Pal, a housewife.

“ I spent most of my time either cooking, eating, sleeping or talking to friends on phone”, said Ritu Minz, a school teacher.

“The COVID lockdown left me alone at home. Since I don’t view Idiot Box( TV), I was left with no option than to communicate with my son and daughter who were stranded in Delhi and Mumbai respectively. It helped me pass time inside my house in Ranchi”, said Sonam Kumari, a retired government servant.
