A farm managed by Animal Husbandry Department (AHD) was located at Hotwar village in Ranchi.It had animls such as sheep, goats and buffaloes. The farm was located in front of the AHD office.The officials and staff used the farm as their front to siphon off funds meant for the fodder,medicines and equipments.This was in 1990’s. to run the farm.

Today, there are no trace of the farm . The farm has been replaced to make the world class sports complex and Birsa Munda Central Jail in Ranchi where many convicts have been sentenced of the multi million rupee fodder scam including Bihar’s former Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav.

The CBI court Judge PK Singh have held 45 of the accused guilty including two former Bihar CMs-Lalu and Jagannath Mishra. After being sent to jail, Lalu was given the convict no -3312 along with a room once occupied by former Jharkhand CM Madhu Koda. Mishra came out of jail on health grounds and has been lodged at the RIMS – state government hospital in Ranchi.

Judge Singh is to pronounce the quantum of punishment to the convicts on October 3.
