The annual Char Dham Yatra will begin tomorrow. The gates of Gangotri and Yamunotri shrines will open on the auspicious occasion of “Akshaya Tritiya”.
The Uttarakhand government said that it has taken all measures to attract more people and ensure smooth passage to the annual pilgrimage this year after the devastating deluge in 2013.
Chief Minister Harish Rawat and senior officials have visited Kedarnath, Badrinath and other areas to review the preparations for the Yatra.
The Gangotri gates will be opened at 12.30 p.m. tomorrow, said Suresh Samewal, secretary of Gangotri Temple Trust and the gates of Yamunotri will be opened at 11.30 a.m. tomorrow.
