Following the CBI inquiry sought by BJP MP Nishikant Dubey into the background of workers who had acquired job cards under Mahatama Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act in his constituency Godda and its neighbouring district Dumka,Union Rural Development Minister Jai Ram Ramesh has asked the state government to act on it.

Though the state government had not respo, nded so far,n his October 22 letter written to Ramesh,Dubey had claimed that he had records of many kins of local politicians and influential people who were fraudulently enrolled as MNREGA workers.

These “influential people were fraudulently enrolled as MNREGA workers in panchayats such as Ferozpur,Amzoda,Modhura,Sukhal,Kamargama,Digghhi,Raha,Keva,Jamni tola and Dhopra”,states Dubey in his letter.

Demanding a CBI enquiry into it,Dubey had asked Ramesh to send a special MNREGA team from Delhi to put a check on these irregularities.”This will create a very good atmosphere and impact will be seen and felt in other districts not only in Jharkhand, but all across India as well”,states Dubey’s letter.
