If the Jharkhand Assembly poll 2019 results are of any indication, the Congress party is on top of the coalition led by JMM Acting President and ex-CM Hemant Soren. In 81- member House, the coalition has won 47 seats, five seats more than the magic figure of 42 needed to form.

The BJP has won 25 seats. The coalition comprises three parties. Among them, JMM has won 30, RJD one and Congress 16. This means without the support of the Congress, the JMM can not hold seats of power in its hand.

Alongside two other parties, AJSU and JVM have gained two and three seats respectively. In view of their paltry numbers, none of these parties can determine the fate of the coalition government led by JMM's Hemant Soren.

The worst affected are Left parties-CPI and CPI(M). None of them had secured any seat. However, CPI-ML had regained one seat.

Be that as it may, Hemant Soren is slated to take the oath with his Cabinet Ministers at Morahabadi Maidan on December 29. Till then, Raghubar Das, who had resigned from the post of CM on Monday evening, was directed to continue to hold the post.

In 81 -member house,28 seats were Scheduled Tribe Reserved Constituencies. Among them, the BJP had won just two seats, mirroring the rage of tribals against the BJP government led by Das who is understood to have emerged as the 'worst' CM Jharkhand ever had in 20-year-old history of Jharkhand.
