Lalu Prasad Yadav has hit headlines for two reasons on Thursday. One, the state government-run RIMS hospital management has decided to shift him from its Director's bungalow to its paying ward.

The notification issued by RIMS states that the convict Lalu Prasad who is undergoing imprisonment on health ground at the official bungalow of its Director in Ranchi to room number 11 of the paying ward. The shifting is expected to take place soon.

Also, the state government has ordered a probe into Lalu Prasad allegedly telephoning an NDA MLA in Bihar asking him to abstain from voting during the election to the Speaker of the assembly. 

Jharkhand Inspector General, Prisons, Virendra Bhusan says that he has asked Ranchi Deputy Commissioner, Superintendent of Police, and Superintendent of Birsa Munda jail to inquire into the matter and if the allegations are found true, initiate lawful action.

The jail IG said he ordered an inquiry after he himself heard the purported audio clip of the conversation between Prasad and the legislator.

Moreover, Jharkhand High Court is scheduled to hear Lalu Prasad Yadav's bail plea in a fodder scam case connected with the Dumka treasury. Since he had already gained bail in three other fodder scam cases in which he was declared convict by the court, if he gets the bail on this fourth case, he can walk out of jail on bail.
