Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren today met Governor Ramesh Bais and handed over to him a letter seeking clarification on his response to the Election Commission of India’s sealed letter received by him three weeks back.
The response of Governor Ramesh Bais is not known. But Soren has demanded a copy of the ECI’s opinion in connection with the office of profit case against him.
“Due to spread of news by the BJP and selected leak from Your Excellency’s office, a confusion and misleading situation has been created in the state government and among the public, which is not good for the people and the state”, read the letter from Soren to Bais.
The CM later said that he has urged the Governor to clear the confusion surrounding the ECI recommendation in the office of profit case, and requested him to make a decision on it.
In fact, the ECI, in response to a complaint of the opposition BJP leaders forwarded by Governor Ramesh Bais on the office of profit allegation stating that Soren had gained a stone mining lease while being the CM, had examined its authenticity and reportedly sent him a sealed letter last month, recommending its opinion.
Later, Governor Ramesh Bais had told media persons that he was taking legal advise and will make public his decision soon. But he had preferred to remain silent on this matter till date.
This has created political uncertainty prompting CM Soren to meet Governor Bais and hand over his letter which he had tweeted today.
The tweet carrying CM Soren’s letter is being enclosed here for the perusal of viewers.
