

President Droupadi Murmu is scheduled to visit Ranchi,Jamshedpur and Gumla on her three- day long tour to Jharkhand.
After landing in Ranchi on December 28, she will stay and spend the night at the Lok Bhawan(People's Residence), a new name for "Raj Bhawan" (King's/Ruler's Residence).
On December 29,she will fly by chopper from Ranchi to Jamshedpur and Adityapur in her first official visit to the region after assuming office.
The one-day Jamshedpur visit holds cultural and academic significance, marking key engagements related to tribal heritage and higher education in Jharkhand.
The President will attend the centenary year programme commemorating the structuring (discovery)of the tribal Ol Chiki script at Disom Jaher in Karandih, Sundernagar. The script was created in 1925 by Pandit Raghunath Murmu to promote the Santhali language and cultural identity.
President Murmu is scheduled to deliver an address on the concluding day of a week-long seminar dedicated to the promotion and development of the Santhali script.
Notably,Ol Chiki is a distinct indigenous script that serves as a vital medium for Santhali literature, education and cultural expression. Over the decades, it has emerged as a strong symbol of tribal identity. The centenary event underscores national recognition of indigenous knowledge systems and linguistic diversity.
Next, the President will visit the National Institute of Technology, Jamshedpur, where she will preside over the 15th convocation ceremony. She will award degrees and gold medals to graduating students at the institute’s new auditorium. Originally established as the Regional Institute of Technology in 1960, the institute was upgraded to NIT status in 2002 and declared an Institute of National Eminence in 2007.
On December 30, President Murmu will participate in the Inter-State ‘Jan Sanskrit Kartik Jatra programme organised under the banner of ‘Pankhraj Saheb Kartik Oraon Adivasis Shakti Swyatshadhi University Nirman Samiti at Manjhatoli village under Raidih block in Gumla.
Then, after returning from Gumla to Ranchi, President will fly back to Delhi the same evening.
