With an aim to improve nutrition and end prevalence of malnutrition among the women & children in the state,Jharkhand State Nutrition Mission (JSNM) on Monday oragnised a workshop on Digital platforms to Scale Up Gender-Sensitive Nutrition inside BNR Chanakya in Ranchi.

JSNM,an autonomous body created under the aegis of Department of Women and Child Development Govt. of Jharkhand,is committed to promote nutrition among women and children in Jharkhand so that mal-nutrition can be eliminated from the state in the next ten years.

Incidentally,JSNM had recently signed an MOU with Digital Green (DG), an international development organization that uses simple ICT tools of technology to promote good practices on nutrition and health through peer to peer learning processes at the community level.

Other eminent international experts from London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine; Strengthening Partnerships, Results, and Innovations in Nutrition Globally (SPRING) and prominent officials from donors such as USAID, UNICEF and Gates Foundation and technology and development partners from BBC Media Action, Dimagi, Gramvaani etc. and senior officials from JSLPS, women and child development, information technology, department of industries of government of Jharkhand,took part in the workshop.

The discussion started by Director General of JSNM Mridula Sinha centred around the following issues.1. Social and Behavioral Challenges in promoting nutrition in the state: exploring convergence.2.Digital Platforms for promoting nutritional behaviors and how they complement one another.
