Chennai Super Kings (CSK) CEO Kasi Viswanathan confirmed on Friday that M.S. Dhoni will play for the franchise in the IPL 2026 season.

Putting speculations about Dhoni’s IPL retirement to rest, Viswanathan said: “MS has told us that he will be available for the next season.”

Ranchi born Dhoni, 44 year old, was retained by CSK as an “uncapped player” before the 2025 mega auction, when an IPL rule change allowed Indian players who have not played international cricket for five years to go into the auction pool as uncapped.
