The Ranchi office of the Indian Metrorological Department(IMD), popularly known as the Met Department,on Thursday planted 250 trees inside its premise.

The chief guest on the occasion was Ranchi Divisonal Forest Officer
R.L.Bakshi.”We should plant as many trees as possible to keep environment clean and fine”,said Bakshi.

Ranchi Met Department Director Vinay Kumar Mandal informed that as many as 250 trees were planted in the office premise.The programme was attended among others by the Met Department staff.

As it is,the Met Department is an agency of the Ministry of Earth Sciences of the Govt.of India.It is the principal agency responsible for meteorological observations,weather,forecasting and siesmology.
