*Phase 1: House-Listing and Housing Census (HLO) has been started from 1st April 2026 and continue till 30th September 2026.*

1. ⁠HLO is 30 day exercise.

2.The corresponding house-to-house House-listing Operations in these States/UT will be conducted from May 16 to June 14, 2026.

3.An optional 15-day Self-Enumeration facility has been provided before 30 day period of house-to-house survey.

4. ⁠*The date and period of HLO and Self Enumeration is NOT same for all states/UTs. It is as per dates and period notified by each state/UT.*

5. ⁠*Households that have not opted for Self-Enumeration will be covered during the physical house-to-house visit by Enumerators.*

6.⁠Self-Enumeration (SE) facility for Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) area, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Meghalaya and Jharkhand started from 1st May and ended on May 15,2026. There were scores of complaints that the SE facility failed to be utilised by bonafide residents due to ‘inaccessibility’ of its Server.
