The changing weather conditions continue to be witnessed in Jharkhand.The weather department has sounded Yellow alert for several districts today( May 16 and 17).

Alongside, the southwest monsoon may set in over Jharkhand by June 5.

Normally, monsoon arrive in the state between June 10 and June 15. While its exact onset date varies slightly depending on Bay of Bengal currents, it generally covers the entire state by mid-to-late June, bringing crucial relief from the summer heat.

India Meteorological  Department has predicted the arrival of monsoon early this time.

During the last 24 hours,in between rain and windstorm, lightening, seven persons had died.Among them, lightening killed three and one persons in Nawa Bazar, Palamau and Latehar respectively.

In Latehar’s Rehla village of Sadar block, lightening killed one person and burnt his wife. In Balumath of Latehar, another woman suffered electrocution due to lightening.In Garhwa, lightening killed one person and injured four others.

In Sadho village of Bushunpura block of Garhwa, one 12- year old crushed to death due to the collapse of a dilapidated house.

According to the MET Department, though the onset of monsoon is expected early, four- five days variation can be experienced.
