Jharkhand High Court has quashed a 2014 FIR related to an alleged Model Code of Conduct violation against Chief Minister Hemant Soren.

The court order has come as a relief to CM Soren. The case dates back to 2014, an FIR related to an alleged Model Code of Conduct violation.

The case stemmed from his campaign activity during the 2014 Assembly elections in the Adityapur area of Seraikela-Kharsawan district.

The FIR, registered at Adityapur police station, had accused him of breaching election norms while campaigning for a Jharkhand Mukti Morcha candidate.

The High Court, after examining the matter, ordered the cancellation of the FIR, effectively bringing the long-pending case to an end.
