As part of its outreach activities under the *Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA* ), the Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Ranchi organized a *Cyber Security Awareness programme* at the Government School in Malsiring, one of the villages adopted by the Institute under the UBA initiative.

The programme kick started on July 18,2926 aimed to familiarise school students with safe and responsible use of the internet and digital platforms.

Addressing the students, Dr. Sandhir Kumar Singh, Coordinator, Unnat Bharat Abhiyan, IIIT Ranchi, spoke about the growing importance of cyber security in everyday life. He encouraged students to remain alert while using online platforms and to develop safe digital habits from an early age.

Faculty members Dr. Roshan Singh, Dr. Ankita, and Dr. Rishikesh Dutt Tiwari interacted with the students and discussed various aspects of cyber safety. They explained how to protect personal information, recognize online scams, use social media responsibly, create strong passwords, and avoid becoming victims of cyber fraud. The interactive session also addressed students' questions and concerns related to online safety.

The programme received an encouraging response, with students actively participating in discussions and sharing their experiences of using digital devices and the internet.

Appreciating the initiative, *Prof. Rajeev Srivastava, Director, IIIT Ranchi,* said that creating awareness about cyber security among young students is essential in today's digitally connected world. He commended the efforts of the UBA team and encouraged them to continue organizing programmes that contribute to community development and digital literacy.
