It was a couple of hours of clash between Congress and BJP workers outside the official complex of the BJP near Harmu Chowk in Ranchi on July 23, 2026.

The cops were on their toes. They looked tense while trying to maintain law and order. Eyewitness accounts claimed that a tense milieu prevailed as the policemen tried to contain the Congress workers' protest outside the BJP's state headquarters over the NEET paper leak controversy. 

The Congress workers shouted slogans against the BJP and in support of their party leader Rahul Gandhi's demands.

These demands include the dismissal of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and condemnation of the alleged lathi-charge on protesting students in New Delhi.

Notably, despite heavy police deployment and double-layer barricades, protesters confronted BJP workers gathered outside the office. 

Reports said the confrontation escalated into stone-pelting, with eggs, tomatoes and water bottles also hurled by both sides, triggering chaos in the area. 

Police and security personnel intervened to disperse the rival groups and eventually brought the situation under control.
