Come August 10 when students will gherao the state Assembly to press the state government led by Chief Minister Hemant Soren to meet their demands.
“Protest to continue until all demands, including cancellation of 14th JPSC exam, are met,” said the students who continued to protest inside Jaipal Singh Munda stadium in Ranchi on Saturday ( August 8,2026).
This means the the stalemate between protesting students and the Soren continues. However,
on Friday evening ( August 7,2026), a team of the govt functionaries constituted by the CM Soren,assured students of a ‘quick decision’ to resolve issues raised by students.
This was confirmed by JPSC JSSC Students ’ Forum leader after talks with govt. on alleged irregularities over recruitment examinations.
The students’ protest under the JPSS-JSCC Reform Manch over alleged irregularities in competitive exams entered its 15th day on Saturday (August 8, 2026) after talks between the State government and the student protestors failed to break the deadlock.
Meanwhile, Jharkhand State Crime Investigation Department (CID) probing the case of alleged irregularities in competitive exams for government recruitments in the State, has now served notices to three serving members of Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) .
Alongside, the Jharkhand government has launched an email ID –– JPSSC.feedback@gmail.com –– seeking suggestions and feedback from students.
“We will continue to meet with various student groups and stakeholders. Additionally, we are releasing an email ID: JPSSC.feedback@gmail.com. Any student, individual, or stakeholder can send suggestions to this address, and we intend to formulate a reform policy and reach a collective decision based on everyone’s input. The government will take their concerns into account based on the emails received," the minister said.
As per the source, the investigating agency has summoned three current JPSC members—Ajita Bhattacharya, Anima Hansda, and Jamal Ahmed and asked them to appear before the agency on August 10, 12, and 14, respectively.
