The Director General, Territorial Army, paid his heartfelt tribute to Shri Vinay Kumar Roy, former General Manager of Heavy Engineering Corporation (HEC), Ranchi, and father of Major Vineet Kumar, the founder of CyberPeace Foundation.

During his long tenure of service at HEC, Shri Roy, as a talented engineer, made a significant contribution in the construction of the launch pad and essential equipment for India’s ambitious Chandrayaan mission.

Following Shri Roy’s demise at R.R. Army Hospital, New Delhi, his last rites were performed in New Delhi on August 25, 2026.

A condolence meeting was also held in the premises of E and F Type Sector 3 HEC, Ranchi by former HEC officials.

Deep condolence was expressed at his passing away. At the condolence meeting, former HEC General Manager Sant Kumar Sharma said that Shri Roy’s greatest strength was his ability to discharge every responsibility entrusted to him with utmost competence and that his personality left a lasting impression on everyone.

During the condolence meeting, S.K. Sharma, P.S. Tomar, and several other former officials observed a two-minute silence to pay tribute to the departed soul and shared their thoughts.
