The team of Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra, near Ranchi, the capital city of Jharkhand, has come up with a formula-style racing car - Phoenix.
It is named Phoenix to compete at the SUPRA SAE India event held at the Buddh International Circuit in Noida.
The Team Srijan, comprising around 40 undergraduate engineering students from various streams at BIT Mesra, is the official Formula Student team.
The team built a formula-style racing car named Phoenix to compete at the SUPRA SAE India event held at the Buddh International Circuit in Noida.
According to their website, www.pcbway.com, these BIT Mesra students came together to conceive, design, manufacture, and test a Formula-style race car to participate in multiple national and international Formula Student events worldwide.
Formula Student is a student engineering design competition for undergraduates and graduates. The competition allows students to strengthen their engineering design and project management skills by applying classroom knowledge in challenging environments.
Since 2007, these BIT Mesra students have participated in numerous Formula Student competitions, which include FS UK(2007) where they stood 5th in class 2 events. FS ITALY(2013), where they were the 2nd best Indian Team in the design event and Formula Design Challenge (2015), where they were ranked 7th overall.
On the above website, they have shown their achievements by giving their ‘best performance’ in 2018 at Formula Bharat, where they bagged 1st place in Business Plan Presentation.
With these achievements, they seem to have left no stone unturned by constantly tuning its members for the goal of having a podium finish at Formula Student competitions backed by prominent industry partners, including TVS Motor.
The sponsorship by prominent industry partners, including TVS Motor Company as a gold sponsor, supports their transition toward advanced prototypes and future electric vehicle (EV) designs.
