
The IMD has forecast rain and thunderstorms across several parts of the states on Friday morning, with heavy to very heavy rainfall likely at isolated places in Uttarakhand, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, and other states.
Several regions are expected to remain under weather alerts over the next few days.
In Jharkhand, Schools in Garhwa and Latehar districts will remain closed on Thursday amid a flash-flood warning.
Rainfall is likely to continue at several places in Uttarakhand until September 7. On Thursday, heavy rain is expected at isolated places in Dehradun, Tehri, Uttarkashi, Nainital, Champawat, Udham Singh Nagar, Pithoragarh and Bageshwar.
On September 4, heavy rain is expected at isolated places in Nainital, Champawat, Dehradun, Haridwar and Bageshwar. Similar thunderstorm and lightning activity is likely across the state.
On September 5, heavy rain is likely at isolated places in Dehradun, Haridwar and Pauri, with thunderstorms and lightning possible across all districts.
In Jharkhand, the IMD has forecast heavy rain across Jharkhand until September 5, with a red alert for very heavy rainfall in Garhwa, Palamu, Simdega and West Singhbhum.
Several other districts, including Lohardaga, Gumla, Khunti, Saraikela-Kharsawan and East Singhbhum, are also expected to receive heavy rain.
