Even as its latest arrest has increased the number of accused in the examination-irregularity investigation to 11, the CID continues to trace the chain of people allegedly involved in manipulating the recruitment process.
11th Arrest in Expanding Probe
The Jharkhand CID has arrested one more person in connection with alleged irregularities in the Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission Combined Graduate Level (JSSC-CGL) examination, taking the total number of arrests in the case to 11.
The development marks another step in an investigation that has progressively widened beyond the examination process itself to the people and mechanisms allegedly linked to the irregularities.
Investigation Moves Deeper
The CID is examining the circumstances surrounding the examination and seeking to establish the roles of those allegedly connected to the irregularities. The investigation has also involved scrutiny of documents and other evidence as investigators work to establish the sequence of events and identify further links.
Recent investigative activity has included a search at the JSSC office, while investigators are examining call records and other material relevant to the case. The probe has also widened to agencies involved in conducting examinations and associated entities.
Candidates Also Under Scrutiny
The investigation is not confined to those involved in administering the examination. Reports indicate that investigators are examining the role of candidates as well, with a substantial number reportedly coming under scrutiny. One arrested candidate is alleged to have secured selection through an improper arrangement, underscoring the CID's effort to trace the alleged network beyond its operational links.
The Evidence Will Define the Next Phase
With another arrest and multiple lines of inquiry still active, the case is moving towards establishing not merely who was involved, but how the alleged irregularities were enabled. The credibility of the recruitment process now rests on the investigation establishing the facts through evidence, while ensuring that responsibility is fixed only where the allegations are substantiated.
