The IMD has also issued an alert for isolated thunder and lightning activity across the state from September 18 to 20.

For September 17, all 24 districts are under an alert for isolated thunderstorms and lightning. Deoghar, Jamtara, Dumka, Godda, Pakur and Sahibganj are among the districts specifically identified.

The latest forecast follows measurable rainfall in parts of the state. Jama in Dumka recorded 65 mm of rain in the preceding 24 hours, the highest reported during that period.
