His death was preceded by an altercation at a roadside restaurant in Giridih district, after which four people were arrested by the police on Friday.

Hritik Yadav (24) was the son of an ASI (Assistant Sub- Inspector) of police in Bokaro district of the state.

"Yadav had gone to the dhaba in Bandarkupi on Thursday night with friends when they got into a heated argument with the group. The war of words turned into a scuffle, and Yadav was badly beaten up," PTI report quotes Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Jeetwahan Oraon as saying.

Hritik Yadav was brought to the Sadar hospital, where doctors declared him dead, the officer said, adding that four people have been detained for interrogation.
