What is the outcome of the five-day Youth Empowerment and Skills (YES!) Programme from 5 to 9 October 2026 at the NUSRL campus?
The programme was organised by National University of Study and Research in Law (NUSRL), Ranchi, in collaboration with the Jharkhand State Faculty Development Academy, under the Department of Higher and Technical Education, Government of Jharkhand.
The programme focused on holistic well-being, life skills and personal growth, leadership and teamwork, innovation and problem-solving, and confidence building and self-development. It aimed to equip students with practical life skills, promote emotional well-being, and encourage a positive approach towards personal and professional growth.
The sessions were conducted by Ms. Ria Tayal, an Art of Living teacher, who engaged students through interactive activities, yoga practices, kriyas and experiential learning exercises. The programme encouraged participants to develop mindfulness, improve their listening skills, manage stress, build self-confidence and learn to approach challenges with greater clarity and resilience. Students shared positive experiences of the programme, highlighting its impact on their daily routines, mental well-being, self-awareness and interpersonal relationships.
Supriya, a B.A. LL.B. student at NUSRL, described the programme as a wonderful learning experience, noting that the kriyas were effective and calming and that the opportunity to connect with other participants made the experience even more enriching.
Kumari Ananya, a B.A. LL.B. student of the 2026–31 batch, highlighted the importance of living in the present, giving full attention to tasks, accepting failures as part of growth, valuing constructive advice over public opinion, and becoming a good listener. She described the sessions as interactive and engaging, helping her take a step forward in understanding herself.
Prithwi Raj, a first-year B.A. LL.B. student, shared that the programme introduced him to practices that could help reduce stress, improve his daily routine and sleep schedule, and minimise overthinking. He also emphasised the importance of mindful living, mature relationships and listening before speaking.
The five-day YES! Programme provided students with an opportunity to reflect on their habits, strengthen their interpersonal skills and explore practical approaches to maintaining balance in academic and personal life. The initiative reflects the commitment of the participating institutions to promoting holistic student development alongside academic learning.
