The Larger Message: Safety Must Precede Production
Industrial growth depends on people whose skills and labour keep essential operations running. In facilities where hazardous gases may be present, effective monitoring, equipment maintenance, emergency protocols and strict adherence to occupational safety standards are indispensable.
The real measure of industrial progress is not production alone, but the ability to protect every life behind it. A thorough investigation must establish what happened, identify any lapses and ensure corrective measures are implemented. For Jharkhand’s industrial sector, this tragedy is a reminder that workplace safety must remain a continuous responsibility—not merely a response after lives are lost.
