Union Water Resource Minister Uma Bharti and Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das today launched ‘Clean Ganga’ action plan in Sahebgunj,Jharkhand.

While entry-level activities relating to the ambitious ‘Namami Gange’ programme are already underway, execution of the comprehensive action plan aimed at freeing the river of waste and ensuring its unfettered flow is expected to take off in Sahebgunj.

Bharti,who is executing the ambitious programme,was accompanied by Das during the launch of the scheme.

“Entry-level activities are already underway at many places along the river. But implementation of the comprehensive action plan will now take off.The Government intends to clean the river by July 2018,” said Bharti.

The bank of river Ganga falling in 78 villages in Sahebgunj is planned to be cleaned under under “Namami Gange” project,said Bharti while laying foundation stone of the project in Sahebgunj.
