Scores of students and job seekers who had successfully completed recruitment tests conducted by the state government run organisations were in cheers in Jharkhand.

Why?

The Jharkhand High Court on Friday quashed the state government's decision to cancel the Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission Combined Graduate Level (JSSC CGL) examination, bringing relief to candidates who had cleared the recruitment test.

“ It has brought justice to us”, said a candidate echoing the sentiments of a dozen of his colleagues JharkhandStateNews.com talked to to record their opinion on the Jharkhand High Court’s decision today.

Notably, the court has also set aside the state government’s decision to cancel the recruitment advertisement for the appointments, reports news agency ANI.

The HC ruling comes amid ongoing legal process over cancellation of several recruitment examinations in Jharkhand following allegations of irregularities and weeks of protests by candidates.

On August 18, the Jharkhand government issued a notification cancelling 22 recruitment examinations, including the 11th and 13th Jharkhand Public Service Conmission (JPSC) examinations, following public protests over alleged irregularities.

On August 20, the Jharkhand High Court had stated the state government’s order cancelling the appointments of government employees recruited through the 11th and 13th JPSC examinations.

The cancellation of JSSC CGL exam had triggered massive protests by candidates, including those who had already secured government appointment letters through the recruitment process.
