With an aim to develop industry and gain investment,the state government plans to strengthen its old body-Jharkhand State Mineral Development Corporation(JSMDC).

This became clear from the directives made by Jharkhand Chief Secretary Raj Bala Verma during the review meeting of the state industry department in Project Bhawan in Ranchi on Friday.The meeting was attended among others by industrialists and officers of the state Industry Department.

Other directives made by the CS were:the service of the Central Coalfields Ltd’s experts can be gained to develop and strengthen JSMDC.

“A policy is going to be made to develop sick industries.Also a policy will be made to promote regional products”,said the CS.

The CS said that to attract and gain investment,the state government is working to create favourable milieu.Toward the same end,JSMDC will be strengthened so that mineral based industries can be set up and promoted,she said.

The CS also said that officers of other state government bodies such as Ranchi Industrial Area Development Authority and Adityapur Industrial Area Development Authority should go to industrialists and hold meeting with them to identify the reasons- why industrialists were finding it difficult to manage and run their industries.

“Provide the reasons why industry was static or closed so that ways can be found to restart them”,said the CS.
