Sahebgunj is in the news with the country’s famous water services company UEM India gaining a contract of Rs 132.6 crore.It is supposed to supply sewerage system there.

UEM belong to Toshiba Group’s water services company.

”The company has received the contract from Jharkhand Urban Infrastructure Development Company (JUIDCO)”,said the PTI report.

Report said that the contract provided to UEM by JUDICO makes it clear that the former will construct two sewerage treatment plants in Sahebgunj.

”It is based based on sequencing batch reactor technology, with 5-million and 7-million litter per day capacities, along with a 55-kilometre sewerage network and seven pumping stations”,said the PTI report

Funded by the World Bank,it is supposed to offer ten years of operation and maintenance services (O&M).,said the report o the PTIquoting UEM Chairperson and Managing Director Koichi Matsui saying the company has capability to implement the contract of waste water management.
