A suspected Maoist, who hails from Jharkhand and was wanted in connection with several cases has been reportedly arrested in Chennai. said the police.

Surendra Yadav of Jharkhand was arrested following a tip-off and he was picked from Sriperumbudur, police said.

He had been living in Chennai for about a year as a construction worker in the industrial hub of Sriperumbudur, the police said, adding that Yadav, also wanted in Chattisgarh and Bihar, was produced before a local court which allowed his transfer to Jharkhand, police said.
