Slamming the Censor Board for carrying out unnecessary cuts in many recent movies, including A rated films, a group of filmmakers and intellectuals have written to filmmaker Shyam Benegal, chairman of a committee set up for revamp of the Censor Board, urging him that A-rated movies should be released without cuts.

An online petition sent to Benegal, who was recently appointed chairperson of a committee set up by the information and Broadcasting ministry for revamp of the CBFC , has made a strong plea that A-rated movies should be released without cuts.
