Sportsman’s spirit.This was exhibited in plenty by the crowd who witnessed the Ranchi Rhinos defeating Delhi Waveriders 2-1 in Hockey India League at Astro Turf ground in Ranchi on Sunday.

“The crowd was hep.Though they were backing Ranchi Rhinos,many cheered the players of Delhi Waveriders when they entered into the D and made attack on the former.In my opinion,the crowd was simply superb”,said Ranjit Singh,a member of the Delhi Waveriders.

Suniti Agrawal,who had come all the way from Ludhiana to witness the final,was equally appreciative of the crowd.”I have seen cricket and hockey matches in metros.But the crowd of Ranchi was much sober,sportive and gentlemanly”,said Suniti.

“The politicians may have spoilt its image,but Jharkhand is a land of sportpersons.Even the ambience and the facility available at the Astro Turf were simply superb”,said Sukhbir Singh,a member of the Ranchi Rhinos.
