The Union Government has decided to set up 100 more flood forecasting stations, out of which, 40 new stations would come up in six states.

These stations will be set up by the Central Water Commission under Ministry of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation.

According to an official statement, the six States where these stations will come up are Arunachal Pradesh (3), Himachal Pradesh (1), Kerala (2), Rajasthan (12), Sikkim (8) and Tamil Nadu (14) during the current five-year plan.
