Dreaded Maoist Kundan Pahan today surrendered before the police in Ranchi.
Since Pahan who was wanted in more than three dozen criminal cases in Jharkhand, had surrendered and given vital information connected with CPI(Maoist).The state police handed over a cheque of Rs 15 lakh to him.
Pahan received the cheque offered by Additional Director General,RK Mallick inside the office of DIG Ranchi. With Pahan out of the banned CPI (Maoist) outfit, Maoist violence is expected to become a part of history in Jharkhand,thinks Mallick.
In any case,police records show,Pahan,Zonal Commander of the dreaded outfit CPI(Maoist) was wanted in more than three dozen cases of murder,extortion,kidnapping,attempt to murder and so on in Ranchi,Khunti,Simdega,Gumla,Lohardaga,Chatra and Hazaribagh districts.
Pahan was also the prime accused in the murder of the MP Sunil Mahato, MLA Inspector(Intelligence) Francis Indwar,Ramesh Singh Munda,DY.SP Pramod Kumar and six police personnel,loot of Rs 5.5 crore and 1Kg of gold from the moving van of the ICCI bank.
