Monsoon arrived today, covering South, East and Central areas of Jharkhand with the rest parts expected to be covered within the next 38 hours," said Met office in Ranchi.

The pre-monsoon showers had arrived in time with the state experiencing it since past one week.Met Dept said,conditions were favourable to cover the entire state.

Ranchi registered 12.5 mm rainfall till sunset.

The onset of monsoon has brought relief to the people after several districts registered temperatures between 40 degree Celsius and 45 degree Celsius for over a month.

With clouds and rains,the mercury had dipped from 34 Deg C on Thursday to 27 Deg C on Friday.
