Two and a half month after he took oath as CM of Jharkhand on December 29,2019,Hemant Soren seems to have left bureaucracy in limbo.

Soren has neither transferred Chief Secretary D.K.Tiwari nor appointed his Principal Secretary. With the post of Principal Secretary to CM lying vacant, the JMM leader and the CM Soren has been officiating with his own appointed Officer on Special Duty Gopal ji Tiwari.

Tiwari has been officiating together with the CS D.K.Tiwari who was appointed by the BJP government led by the then CM Raghubar Das.

In consequence, the Soren government has not been able to build an administrative team to plan and execute schemes.Moreover,D.K.Tiwari,1986 batch IAS officer, is slated to retire on March 31,2020.

Against this backdrop, speculations were ripe in the state bureaucracy as senior officers awaited the CM's decision to appoint successor of Tiwari.Four IAS officers figured in the list. They were:A.K.Singh,K.K.Khandelwal,Sukhdeo Singh and N.N.Sinha.

While A.K.Singh and K.K.Khandelwal were 1988 batch,Sukhdeo Singh and N.N.Sinha were 1986 batch IAS officers. While the first three were posted in Jharkhand,N.N.Sinha is in central deputation in Delhi.

Who among them will be selected by the CM Soren remains to be seen.
